Dr. Tanvi Nagpal's piece appears in MIT journal

Dr. Tanvi Nagpal, Director of Water and Sanitation Initiatives at Global Water Challenge, wrote a commentary about Sulabh International, a well-known Indian NGO focused on sanitation, for the Summer 2009 edition of Innovations, the MIT journal on technology, governance and globalization. The piece examines the business model of the NGO that has popularized public toilets in India and poses many important questions that still need to be answered about the viability of public toilets as business. Only after more information is disclosed, Dr. Nagpal argues, will we be able to determine whether Sulabh's model can be successfully scaled and replicated.
